BlossomIf only the blossom of flower was slower
To really take in all the light
Before it's over, with little sun ray in sight
If you knew how much things changed
You'd be carefree and embrace your innocent joy
If you allow the nutrients to overflow
Rather than toxins that try to kill
You'll gracefully go from seed to flower
And life will be fulfilled
LongingSitting in the corner alone, the sadness in my face was there
Lost in my thoughts to make things easier to bare
Wishing I was seen, then maybe someone would care
So I opened up and became impressionable
Negativity and abnormal actions awoken
Identity challenged
After some hardships, a realization came to be
Soul was initially beautiful, never lacked meaningful qualities
Regained a sense of self with emotions of content and happy
All I wanted was a real friend
Being genuine brought plenty to me
About SD
From a young age, I was very reserved and shy out of fear for the unknown; what people may say or think about me, how an interaction would go, if things were going to be good or bad, etc. Nevertheless, I still wanted to communicate my thoughts and emotions, so I started drawing. I found safety and joy in drawing, making it my primary means of self-expression and introducing me to a world of limitless imagination. During my middle and high school years, I pushed myself to socialize more and participate in activities that would help me open up. I was fortunate enough to gain genuine friends who made me feel comfortable in being myself, and unexpectedly participated in and enjoyed cheerleading. Being a cheerleader for six years became a pivotal experience in my life as it showed me the importance in community and the impact of being intentionally positive towards yourself and those around you. Simultaneously, it was during these years that I delved into art history, explored mediums, and discovered the power of art to inspire growth and evoke emotions. My creative, educational, and personal experiences have encouraged me to pursue art in hopes of not only inspiring others, but also myself, to be unapologetic about who you are, what you have to say, and how you chose to express the two. To aid in this goal, I've created the space "Studio Deyann" to showcase my creations and give the world introspect towards who I am as an artist and individual.More About Me: I'm Destiny Wilson, a 20 year old artist from Greenville, SC. Majority of my inspiration comes from influential art movements of the past such as the Harlem Renaissance and Neo-Expressionism. When I'm not in my creative mode, I enjoy hobbies such as reading, exploring musical discographies, online shopping, and binge sessions of 90s/00s sitcoms and movies.
